The Philanthropy Connection (TPC), a Boston-area women's collective giving organization, granted Career Collaborative $30,000 toward incorporating financial literacy in its program. After a 7-month long vetting process, TPC's 200+ members chose eight nonprofits for major grants. Their gift will help Career Collaborative: • add financial literacy topics to its Job-Readiness and Job-Search Course. • provide ongoing coaching related to budgeting and financial goals. • host financial literacy workshops.

Sheryl (pictured at right) started her new position at the United States Postal Service as a Mail Processing Clerk last week. “I’m working full-time now and I’m really happy,” she told the class. Sheryl’s advice to those who are job searching: be persistent and never doubt yourself.

During her first two years of employment, Bilkis (pictured at right) has thrived. Last year, Newton-Wellesley Hospital promoted her to Data Quality Specialist. Bilkis has continued making career progress and with the help of her career coach, and this month she got a new job as a Patient Coordinator II at Massachusetts General Hospital.
