Participants and staff met in Post Office Square for a sunny lunch break on Friday, July 28th to discuss updates in their lives and careers, any obstacles they were facing or had overcome, and talk openly to the CC staff about their experiences in the workplace. A good time was had by all!
New England Patriots owner Robert K. Kraft has pledged a generous $100,000 catalyst challenge gift over two years to Career Collaborative. As you can imagine, we’re incredibly pleased and grateful. Mr. Kraft is going to match all new, incremental, and multi-year pledges inspired by his catalyst grant up to $100,000.
Career Collaborative intern Jack and staff member Lauren participated in the Fenway Community Development Corporation Career and Resource Fair, where they were able to spread the word about our program to local job-seekers.
Yoiner first attended our Job-Search Workshop in June 2014 and started a job soon after as a customer service associate for a local bank. Since then, he's worked hard with his Career Coach to continue moving up in a career in finance and eventually landed at State Street Corporation, where he still works today as a Transfer Associate.
CONGRATULATIONS to our September 2016 workshop graduates! As in most of our workshops, these participants represented a diverse set of target jobs and fields: security officers, paraprofessionals, office clerks, cooks and many entry-level positions in hospital settings.
Latema completed the Job Search workshop in November 2015 and found a great job as a Client Service Coordinator with Fenway Health. Since then, she has kept in frequent touch with her Career Coach to build and meet her long-term goals. Well done, Latema!
As of last Friday, these participants completed four weeks of job readiness training and 20 practice interviews and are on the way to finding successful careers. Congratulations to everyone who completed the workshop for the month of August!
